Poetic Roads-Poetic choreographies on the pentagram
Spread the word
Anyone who finds themselves at the "Maria Callas" Kalamata Music School on Monday, November 10th, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. will have the opportunity to enjoy creative hours with free admission. This is another parallel event within the framework of the "Poetic Roads" action, in collaboration with the "Maria Callas" Kalamata Music School, entitled "Poetic choreographies on the pentagram".
In this context, a creator reveals with which tools he psycho-mentally creates his creation. He will then be asked questions such as:
- How is poetry transformed into a song?
- How is the meter set to music, and how is the free verse set to music?
- Does the song have a structure, and what is it?
- Is the structure specific to all songs?
- Does the composer's value system operate during this transformation?
Each answer by the composer will be accompanied by an example sung by Yiannis Thomopoulos, with the composer accompanying on piano.
The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the transfer of the poetic word to the staff. Also, the poets who will be in the audience, whoever wishes, will be asked to provide a four-line stanza from one of their poems to be set to music by the composer, on the spot.
