Mesimeri. An extra virgin olive oil, pure and authentic, like the land of Messinia that has been giving birth to it for 4,500 years. At the same time, it is a set of memories of its producers’ childhood, such as the first golden drop on the bread with the aroma of tomato leaves, freshly cut grass, olive tree leaves, herbs and nuts, with friends all wearing straw hats around a table. And funny photos.
Costas Spyropoulos and Angeliki Markopoulou are the inspirers of Mesimeri. A chemical engineer and a graduate of French literature, sharing life, returned to their homeland. They united their innate love for it with memories and tastes. They brought new philosophy and knowledge about trees and fruits and created something more than an excellent olive oil. An idea. The experience of the Greek lunch. It starts from the extra virgin olive oil and reaches as far as the sun of the Mediterranean. A journey that begins from the family estates in small Paniperi and ends in the dishes not only around Greece but the world as well.
Olive trees nourish and thrive naturally, as they have done so for centuries. With the long-lasting Mediterranean sunshine, the mild, wet winters and the hot, dry summers of the local microclimate. Producers follow, at all stages, a friendly cultivation process. Without interventions and the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Only with organic fertilisation and spraying. MESIMERI is a genuinely pure virgin olive oil.
Every November, the harvest is the celebration of Mesimeri. Olive trees under the abundant Greek light drip fresh olive juice naturally. Among them, there are century-old trees., A premium olive oil is created from these trees with a local approach and limited production. The limited number of production and the principle of the producers not to exceed 3 tons in each production give MESIMERI the value of the exquisite.
MESIMERI was awarded the GOLD AWARD in the Quality Awards category in the international competition: Canada International Olive Oil Competition 2021.
