Lambou Brothers
The history of the Messinian pasteli, (sesame cake), and pastry making of Lambou Brothers begins in 1950, when the six brothers decide to find their luck in Kalamata during the difficult post-war years.
They start their activity in the pastry making sector, with the operation of two central patisseries at the “Psarakia”, (King George Square), and at the 23rd of March Square. From 1955 to 1960 are also active in Athens, at the central square of Kallithea. In 1960, they buy Kousis’ pasteli-making company and continue the production of Kalamata’s traditional pasteli on the board, which already had a history of 100 years.
The idea of creating packaging and standardization gave a new dynamic to the family company, which was modernized and expanded creating, thus, a modern industrial unit. In 1987, they move in proprietary facilities, in a space of 1800 m2, where the production of pastry goods and pasteli continues until today.
The pastry workshop of Lambou Brothers was a “School” for many of their employees who later on started their own business.
Today, the second generation of Lambou continues the tradition which established the Lambou company as the trademark of traditional authentic flavors in Kalamata.
With passion and strict specifications, they daily look for the purest ingredients, creating unique flavors which are locked in memory together with the Messinian beauty. The experienced and adequately trained staff welcomes you with a smile and makes sure service is the best.
