Akovos is preparing to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Drambala, a significant historical event that marked the region. On the occasion of the anniversary, commemorative events will be held that will highlight the importance of the battle and the heroism of the fighters.
The events are organised by the Municipality of Megalopolis, the Local Community of Akovos, the "Saint George" Kalamata Akovos Association, the "Kolokotronis" Akovos Cultural Association, and the "Saint George" Athens-Piraeus Akovos Association.
Event Schedule:
Saturday, June 7th: The events will begin on Saturday, June 7th, at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 8th: They will continue on Sunday, June 8th at 10:30 a.m.

The Battle of Drambala, although less well-known than other battles of the 1821 Revolution, is a significant chapter in local history and a crucial step on the path to freedom. This anniversary offers the opportunity to revive memories, honour heroes and transmit historical knowledge to younger generations.
All residents of the area, history lovers, and those who wish to honour the place's history are invited to attend the anniversary events.
