2nd Kalamata Children's and Adolescents' Film Festival
Spread the word
One year after the tremendous success of the First Kalamata Children's and Adolescents' Film Festival, international children and adolescent cinema returns to Messenia. Films of the first pan-Hellenic screening, short and feature-length, animated and live-action from all over the world challenge children and teenagers from 3 to 18 years old to discover them with free admission.
The Kalamata Children's and Adolescents' Film Festival (#kalyff), an initiative of the multi-member organising team based on the Filmhouse / New Kalamata Cinema Club, is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Religion, with the support of the Municipality of Kalamata and FARIS - Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Kalamata and comes annually to promote global creative film production for children, teenagers and their families.
The purpose of the Festival is to entertain and develop our children and to highlight the value of cinema as an essential element for strengthening their socialisation and empathy.
"We want to entertain and inspire children and young people. We have selected the freshest global film production for young and children's audiences and created a colourful and multi-dimensional programme. Our aim is – beyond entertainment – to open a discussion on issues such as children's rights, diversity, respect for otherness, tolerance, girl power, social and cultural differences, and family relationships."
