THE FRIENDS OF MUSIC KALAMATA  - Cultural Association

The non-profit association "Friends of Music in Kalamata" (SFMK) was founded in 1993 after Christos Lambrakis’ (then President of the Association of Friends of Music of Athens) educational and cultural proposal to Victoria Karelias. Victoria Karelias was President of the Association for 22 consecutive years (1993-2015). Also, the Association "Friends of Music of Kalamata" is a "sibling" of the Association of Friends of Music Athens (1953) and the Association of Friends of Music Thessaloniki (1991).

The Association's primary goal is to promote a high level of musical events in Kalamata, thus contributing to its cultural development. Through the Association, the work of many acclaimed Greek and foreign musicians, creators, performers and artists has been presented. At the same time, the work of new creators and artists originating from Messenia has also been introduced.

Finally, many scholarships have been awarded to talented young musicians.
