Kalamata International Choir Competition and Festival

The "Kalamata International Choir Competition and Festival" was organised for the first time in 2016 by the Municipality of Kalamata, the Public Benefit Enterprise "Faris" and the International Cultural Organization "Interkultur". The event's major sponsor is the "George and Victoria Karelia Foundation".

Every two years, the capital of Messenia is filled with musical sounds and melodies. Choirs from all over the world take part in the great musical celebration with more than 800 choir members. The International Competition consists of the Friendship Concerts (in the Central Square of Kalamata), the competition part (which takes place in the Kalamata Dance Megaron), the Gala Concert, the Choirs Parade, the Grand Prize Competition, as well as the impressive Opening and Closing Ceremony.
