The Cultural Association of Harakopiadites is implementing an Intangible Cultural Heritage Action entitled “THE CULTURE OF THE OLIVE TREE IN THE KORONI-CHAROKOPIO AREA”, the Action is under the auspices and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The Cultural Association of Harakopiadites is implementing the Intangible Cultural Heritage Action entitled “The Culture of the Olive TREE in the Koroni-Harokopio Area”, under the auspices of and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The Action is also actively supported by the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor.
The Action aims to highlight the intangible cultural elements associated with the universal and timeless cultivation of the olive tree in the Koroni-Charokopio area. The theme includes cultural, folklore and environmental elements that constitute the historical relationship of the local community with the olive tree.
At the same time, in collaboration with Professor Ioakeim Spiliopoulos and Maria Xaplanteri, Dr Biologist, EDIP of the Agricultural University of Peloponnese, the Action will examine the qualitative characteristics of olive oil, while, with Konstantina Bougiesi, Food Technologist, a tasting of Virgin Olive Oil will be held.
The events will take place at the Pre-Industrial Traditional Olive Oil Mill of Harokopi, on November 21 & 22, 2025, according to the following schedule:

The event will also present the results of the 2023–2025 Action of the Municipality of Pylos – Nestor, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, to prepare a Museological Study for the conversion of the Pre-industrial Olive Mill of Harokopio into a Museum of Modern Culture.
The presentation of the study will be carried out by the scientific team that prepared it:
Vasia Pierrou and Alexandra Nikiforidou.
The Municipality of Pylos – Nestor invites citizens to participate in the events and get to know in depth the unique culture of the olive tree, which is the foundation of our local identity and cultural heritage.
