

The village of Achladochori belongs to the Municipality of Messina and is 35 km from Kalamata. It is built at an altitude of 269 meters and has about 130 permanent residents. Until 1927, the village was called Haikali. Achladochori is found in Venetian census of 1700, where it is mentioned that it had 19 families and 92 inhabitants in total, at that time.
The visitor there can see the church of Agios Georgios, as well as the church of Agia Paraskevi with the rare fresco of Charos. At a distance of 1.5 km, Northeast of the village are the remains of a medieval settlement with the castle of Kosmina.
Finally, the village is just 3.5 km from Kalamaki beach and 9 km from Petalidi.
