The Potato Festival in Alagonia

The 37th Potato Festival will take place in the courtyard of the Potato Seed Centre in Alagonia on Saturday, August 24th, 2024. It is organised by the Cultural Association of Alagonia, with the support of the Municipality of Kalamata, the Community of Alagonia, the Region of Peloponnese and the Central Market of Kalamata.

In the context of the event, for the better service of the citizens, on the day of the Feast, traffic regulations will come into force, namely:

1. On Saturday afternoon, village residents are requested to avoid using their cars in the village's central passage and park their vehicles on adjacent roads or personal parking lots.

2. Two lanes of traffic will be allowed on the village's main street until 8:00 p.m. From 8:15 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. the following day, only traffic from Kalamata to the Potato Seed Warehouse (from Vounaki position to Machala square) will be allowed.

The return to Kalamata for visitors will take place:

a) from the Machalas - Nedousa - Kalamata - Sparta National Road (14 km and about 30 minutes).

b) either from the Pano Meria - Sirvata - Kalamata - Sparta National Road (6 km and 12 minutes).
