LET'S GO ON A WALK to Milia in Mani
Spread the word
"The apples of Milia are fragrant," Nikitas Nifakos praises the apples that, according to the prevailing opinion, the settlement was named after. However, the name may also be related to the Homeric <<milon>> (=sheep) due to the livestock farming in the area. Another version of the name may be related to the sage bushes.
The <<pame volta>> group will visit the five settlements of Milia (Fagrianika, Xanthianika, Sekourianika, Kato Chora and Garbelia or Kyvelia) on Sunday, October 12th.
Among other things, we will see some important temples, the tomb of Konstantinos Kolokotronis (father of Theodoros) and the tower of Captain Kyvelos, as we walk through the settlements with their unique colour.
Departure from Kalamata at 9 am
