Kalamata Beach
The long beach of Kalamata, with fine pebbles and sand, stretches for 2.5 kilometres and is rightly considered one of the most beautiful spots in the city. Visitors can reach the beach on foot or by bicycle for a pleasant swim from any point, while along the coast (Navarinou Avenue), there are all kinds of shops, such as cafes, restaurants, hotels, etc.
The beach of Kalamata has been awarded the Blue Flag many times for its clean and calm waters, while most of it is organised with umbrellas and sunbeds. There is also the possibility of water sports, while lifeguards are on the coast for safer swimming. The easternmost part of the beach is considered the best point and, therefore, is also the most crowded.
