LET'S GO FOR A WALK to Geraki, Laconia
Spread the word

Geraki (small Mystras) is located in northeastern Laconia, at the foothills of Mount Parnon. Its unique atmosphere, picturesqueness and the architecture of the two-storey stone mansions make it worth a visit. A first walk in the village will be to the ancient city of Geronthrai, which is located high on the hill. The view from that point is magnificent.
The village is also famous for its many Byzantine churches, so it is worth seeking them out.
The castle is a very short distance from the village, and below it are preserved ruins of the medieval settlement.
Another element that makes Geraki stand out is its weaving art, and a Weaving School now operates there. In the Weaving Structure area, we will see kilims dating back to the 19th century.
