38th Potato Festival in Alagonia

The 38th Potato Festival will be held in the courtyard of the Potato Seed Centre in Alagonia on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. The event is organised by the Cultural Association of Alagonia, with the support of the Municipality of Kalamata, the Community of Alagonia and the Region of Peloponnese.

In the context of the event, for the best service to citizens, traffic regulations will be put into effect on the day of the Festival, specifically:

1. On Saturday afternoon, village residents are asked to avoid using their cars on the village's main street and to park their vehicles on adjacent roads or personal parking lots.

2. Two-way traffic will be allowed on the village's main road until 8:30 p.m. From 8:45 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. the next day, only the ascent from Kalamata to the Potato Grain Warehouse (from the Vounaki location to Mahala square) will be allowed.

The return to Kalamata for visitors will take place:

a) either from the Machalas – Nedoussa – National Road Kalamata-Sparta (14 km and approximately 30 minutes).

b) or from the Pano Meria – Sirvata – National Road Kalamata-Sparta (6 km and 12 minutes).
