The small, mountainous village of Krya Vrysi is built on the northern slopes of Mount Taygetus at an altitude of 1000 metres. It is one of the most mountainous villages in the Peloponnese. Today, the village is inhabited by only eight permanent residents.
Krya Vrysi, together with the villages of Pigadia, Dendra and Rizana, constitute the local district of Pigadia of Western Mani. Every year, on August 26th, the picturesque church of the village, which is dedicated to the Birth of the Virgin Mary, celebrates.
