Social Itheathon-Idea Competition
Spread the word
The Idea Competition is held within the framework of the project “Climate Action for our Cultural Heritage, which connects cultural heritage with climate action through the participation of the citizens themselves. The competition process includes the following stages:
- Existing solutions inspire us: we start from examples, experiences and practices that have been implemented locally or elsewhere and can give us ideas.
- We develop proposals in groups: we create groups of 5–6 people and work collectively on ideas, exchanging thoughts and perspectives.
- We organise our presentation: we put the proposal in order, clarify what we propose and how it can be implemented.
- We present to a jury: each group presents its proposal in 5–7 minutes, followed by discussion and feedback.
Throughout the project, the groups are supported by mentors and work with a specific methodology and available materials.
The project is implemented by the Institute for Local and Community Development Villages in Action, the Social Cooperative Enterprise Nostos, the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of the National Observatory of Athens and the Centre for Education for the Environment and Sustainability of Kalamata. The project is supported by the Municipality of Messina and funded by the IMPETUS program under Horizon Europe.
The process is open to residents, collectives, organisations, educators and anyone interested in the memory, care and future of their place. No special knowledge or preparation is required. You can participate individually or as a group.
The action is aimed at people aged 16 and over. For participants under 18, parental consent is required.
