Municipality of Messina
The Municipality of Messina, with its headquarters in Messina, consists of the former municipalities: a. Aipeia b. Androusa c. Aristomenis d. Voufrades e. Ithomi f. Messina g. Petalidi and the community of Trikorfos, which were all abolished.
The Municipality of Messina has a rich coastline that extends on its southern side for 27 km. The Municipal Units of Aipeia, Messina and Petalidi are coastal areas with picturesque fishing villages and magical taverns. The coasts of the Municipality are diverse, and most are accessible and organised. The munilipality main beaches are Bouka, Velika, Analipsi, Kalamaki, Chranoi etc.
In the fertile hinterland of the Municipality, the Municipal Units of Aristomenis, Androusa, Voufrada, Ithomi, and Trikorfos extend and are mainly rural areas where excellent quality agricultural products are produced, such as olives, extra virgin olive oil, raisins, potatoes, figs etc.
