Next Sunday, March 9th, the Kalamata Mountaineering Association will hike to the settlement of Ano Amfeia.
Starting from the plateau of Agios Ioannis, where the homonymous chapel is also located, we will reach the community of Ano Amfeia.
This old path connected the settlement with the crops and pastures of the plateau, which, until a few decades ago, was bustling with agricultural activity. However, the traces of history extend deeper into the past, several thousand years ago, when the primary path connecting ancient Sparta with ancient Thouria passed through here.
Difficulty level: 1 (easy, suitable for beginners in good physical condition)
Walking time: approximately 4 hours
