Kalamata Mountaineering Association-Excursion to Mount Mainalo

The Kalamata Mountaineering Association is organising a beautiful spring hike in Menalon on Sunday, April 6th, starting in Zygovisti and ending in Elati.

The Zygovisti-Elati section is the third and longest section of the Menalon Trail, with a length of 15.1 kilometres and an estimated hiking time of up to 6 hours. The route
crosses various landscapes, such as dense forests and mountainous areas, offering hikers a comprehensive experience of the area's natural beauty. The trail generally presents moderate gradients, with a notable climb after the Koskitsa spring.

The section rewards hikers with rich natural scenery and the opportunity to explore the diverse ecosystems of the Mainalo area.

Difficulty level: 1 (easy, suitable for beginners)
Walking time: approximately 6 hours
Departure: from the Association's reception on Sunday, 06/04/2025 at 7:00 a.m.
