The International Documentary Festival of the Peloponnese, one of Greece's most active documentary institutions, returns for its 11th year. This year, it will have a dynamic presence in 15 cities and offer a rich screening programme and parallel actions.
With a focus on Kalamata and a theme of Solidarity, the Festival opens the public debate on human relations, social movements, inclusion and cooperation. From November 21st to 30th, 2025, documentaries worldwide, creative workshops, masterclasses, educational programs and art exhibitions will flood the Peloponnese.
The Festival is expanding its network, reaching 15 cities this year:
Kalamata (headquarters), Patras, Nafplio, Argos, Gythio, Dimitsana, Xylokastro, Sparta, Tripoli, Monemvasia, Leonidio, Filiatra, Amaliada, Aigio and Akrata.
The geographical expansion demonstrates the institution's outgoing disposition and commitment to democratising cultural access, highlighting the documentary's value as a tool for dialogue, education and culture.
During the ten-day event, in addition to documentary screenings for adult audiences, specially designed educational and cultural actions are also implemented:
- Educational Screening Zone for students of all levels
- Film Literacy Seminars in collaboration with Higher Educational Institutions

- The Festival invests in accessibility and inclusion with activities and workshops adapted for children with moderate intellectual disabilities or motor difficulties.
The Festival launches a collaboration with the Nordic/Docs Festival of Norway.

With a diverse program, strong international collaborations and an emphasis on lifelong learning through documentary, the Festival establishes itself as a laboratory of culture and education for the Greek periphery.
