With the aim of promoting and showcasing the finest local products of Messenia, the 4th Messinian Gastronomy & Music Festival will take place on August 7, 8 and 9, during one of the busiest tourist periods in Kalamata.
The festival will feature exhibition kiosks with tourism agencies, local producers, and traditional Messenian delicacies. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover and taste authentic regional products presented by local restaurants and small-scale producers, including cured pork, olive oil, wine, ouzo, honey, diples, lalagia, fruit preserves, pasteli, handmade pasta (chilopites), traditional sausages, and many more.
A wide range of cultural and community organisations from across Messenia will also participate, including music, folklore, dance, photography, animal welfare, mountaineering, and shooting clubs. They will present their activities, provide information to visitors, welcome new members, and organise demonstrations and presentations celebrating the traditions, customs, music, and dances of Messinia.
Each day will conclude with live music performances featuring local bands alongside renowned Greek artists, creating three unforgettable festival nights.
