Stand Up Therapy

Distinguished psychologist and integrative psychotherapist Manos Chatzimalonas invites you to experience the Stand Up Therapy co-journey Tour 2026, a series of performances in Athens, Thessaloniki, and across Greece under the title “Deus Ex*Human”, a deeply regenerative experience that combines emotional empathy with theatrical catharsis.
In this unique evening, Manos, drawing from more than 15 years of psychotherapeutic practice across three countries and over 7,000 hours of sessions, takes the stage alone to explore the most urgent question of our era:
What does it mean to remain Human when everything around you pushes you to function like a Machine?
In a three-hour performance, enriched by the live interaction and humour that established him through his weekly LIVE broadcasts on social media, as well as the experience gained from 50 session-performances during the first Stand Up Therapy tour across Greece, Manos invites the audience into a space of inner resistance and embodied regeneration. Here, trauma is not the sole protagonist, practice is as well. Not only confession, but choice. Not only darkness, but the construction of our “second nature”, built upon and beyond the first.
For the first time, the stage becomes a meeting point between the humanities and the natural sciences. Findings from cyberpsychology, embodied neuroscience, evolutionary ethics, cultural resilience, and existential philosophy come together to form a comforting collective narrative.
In a world moving faster than our nervous systems can process, a world that exhausts our concentration, attention, and spirit, this gathering reminds us that there is still something more powerful than artificial intelligence:
The cultivated awareness of a human being who learns to see, to resist, and to choose.
Between inspiring personal stories, collective experiences, neuroscientific insights, and unexpected moments of silence, the performance dismantles the illusion of the “ready-made self” and celebrates the wild miracle of the “created Self.”
Stand Up Therapy returns more mature, more relevant, and more necessary than ever. A performance that expands between soul and mind, memory and body, personal experience and cosmic truth. It is not merely entertainment. It is a ritual of psychological transformation, a shared experience that begins with laughter, passes through the knot in the throat, and ends with a clearer perspective on life.
The spectator does not merely watch. They participate. The self is not entertained. It is reorganised.
Here, laughter does not distract, it heals. Silence is not a pause, it is deepening.
From the depths of antiquity to the neural networks of artificial intelligence, humanity has always searched for a freedom that was never guaranteed. Because humanity’s first enemy was not the machine. It was its own mechanical nature. Instincts, automatic defences, traumatic imprints, limiting beliefs that once protected us, but now hold us back.
The “Deus Ex*Human” is not a saviour from the future. It is the person who learns to unlearn, who recreates themselves not despite their traumas, but through them. It is the being who chooses consciousness over reflex. It is the practice of self-determined existence.
The “Deus Ex*Human” does not descend to save others. They arrive to remind us that salvation does not come from outside ourselves. It comes from the moment a person chooses to stand courageously within themselves, beside themselves, and beside others.
Every Stand Up Therapy session returns you to your body, your meaning, and the choices that keep your humanity alive.
