Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata-THE SCARECROW'S DREAM

The Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata, as part of its activities for its 40th anniversary, is pleased to invite you to the musical theatre performance "THE SCARECROW'S DREAM" by Evgenios Trivizas, the beloved author of children and adults. It is a unique work full of poetic power, humour and imagination. It is a work that speaks directly to the heart of every viewer, regardless of age.

On Sunday, June 29th, at 8:30 PM, at the Main Stage of the Kalamata Dance Megaron, this excellent work will be brought to life on stage by the multi-award-winning children's and youth choir Rosarte/Athens Academy Award, under the direction of maestro Rozi Mastrosavva with the original music of Nikos Tsotras, directed by Eleni Efthymiou and supervised by Elena Gerodimou. Katerina Tsakota supervises the set and costumes of the performance. Apostolos Stranzalis oversees the lighting of the performances.
A scarecrow, built by a hunter-landowner to scare and intimidate, dreams of something completely different: to make friends, to experience love and acceptance. To fly! And with the help of his winged friends, he achieves the impossible: he breaks the shackles of his role and conquers his freedom.
Every "scarecrow" hides within him a breath of heaven, a call to the light. And when he overcomes the fears and "shoulds" that have been imposed on him, he too can fly—and discover what it means to exist truly.

The work of the author, about whom the leading theater critic Kostas Georgousopoulos writes that "he belongs to the rare, and therefore hard-to-find, type of mythologist – a type of creator born of history to interpret the human condition with word and imagination," has been honored, among others, with awards from the "Women's Literary Society" and the "Polish Center for Youth" and has been presented by the London Art Theater in the British Museum's event hall.
