Euripides' emblematic work "Ekavi" at the Kalamata Castle Theatre
Spread the word
Euripides' emblematic work "Ekavi", translated by Eleni Varopoulos and directed by Ios Voulgarakis, will be presented at the Kalamata Castle Theatre on Sunday, June 30th (9:15 p.m.) and Monday, June 31st (9:15 p.m.).
A multi-member troupe of excellent actors-actresses and musicians and the new translation made especially for the performance are the pillars of the project. In the first - and particularly harsh for the Athenians - period of the Peloponnesian War (431-420 BC), Euripides attempts to record and show his fellow citizens - and all Greeks - the dehumanisation of man that can be caused by war. Twenty-four centuries later, Euripides' timeless work is as relevant as ever.
