On Tuesday, August 8 (at 9:30 p.m.), Sophocles's theatrical play "Electra" will be performed at the Kalamata Castle Amphitheatre.
In Sophocles' Electra, Electra and Orestes avenge the murder of Agamemnon by Clytemnestra and Aegisthus, paying blood with blood. Deeply influenced by his time (late 5th century), possessed by a spirit of questioning, investigation and deconstruction, Sophocles chooses to narrate the myth of the Atreides family through the subjective look of Electra. A look shattered by pain and mourning, which reflects, magnifies, and sometimes distorts the reality that surrounds it.
