Events for Nautical Week 2025 have begun at the port of Kalamata

The opening ceremony for the Nautical Week took place on Sunday, June 29th, 2025, on the waterfront of the Port of Kalamata. The Central Port Authority of Kalamata organised it in collaboration with the Municipality of Kalamata and the Municipal Port Fund. Parallel actions will occur in Koroni, Petalidi and Agios Nikolaos of West Mani.
The start of the Nautical Week was also accompanied by the lighting of the "square" of the port pier, which impressed and received positive comments. The lighting of the emblematic landmark of the city's Port was implemented in collaboration with the Kalamata Municipality Tourism Office.
The Nautical Week will last until next Sunday, July 6th. The goal is to highlight the seafaring spirit and the traditional relationship of our people with the sea and to connect with the younger generations through educational activities related to the sea and the water element.
On Monday, June 30th, two-hour activities are planned from 19:00 to 21:00 at the Panhellenic Park of Kalamata. The activities include an exhibition of lifesaving equipment, a rescue exercise for a person in danger at sea, creative constructions for children on the theme of the seabed, and a demonstration of sailing boats.
