On Sunday, March 1st, 2026, the Mountaineering Club of Kalamata is organising a cultural and hiking excursion to Corinth — an outing rich in history and breathtaking views.
The excursion begins at the imposing Acrocorinth and its historic castle gates, which rise above Ancient Corinth. It is one of the most important fortresses in Greece, offering panoramic views of both the Corinthian and the Saronic Gulf.
The route combines natural beauty with significant monuments from various historical periods — antiquity, Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman — offering a unique experience to every participant.
This will be followed by a visit to the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, including the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Agora of Corinth, and the city’s most important ancient monuments.
Difficulty level: 1 (easy; suitable for beginners and children)
