Companions IN NATURE-Climb to Giona
Spread the word
Giona is the highest mountain in Central Greece, located in Phocis between Mount Parnassos and Vardousia. With its highest peak, Pyramida, at an altitude of 2,510 metres, Giona is the highest mountain south of Olympus and the fifth highest in Greece overall. In ancient times, it was known as Aselinon Mountain.
This will be a whole three-day trip. In addition to climbing Giona peak, the group will visit and walk in the fairy-tale village of Pavliani.
A route through a beautiful natural environment of plane trees, maples, walnut trees and chestnut trees, which is flooded with different colours every season. Following the main path, which often crosses Asopos with picturesque wooden bridges, your eyes will fall on imaginative signs with information and relevant instructions.
The entire route through Pavliani Park is either an adventure or, better yet, a big "game".
