On the border of the prefecture of Achaia with the prefecture of Ilia, where the Helmos River lowers, Mount Erymanthos, with its highest peak, Olenos, rises to 2,224 m. It is the fourth highest mountain in the Peloponnese. Erymanthos is distinguished for its wild natural environment, coniferous forests, dense vegetation, excellent views, scattered springs, streams and rivers, which form beautiful valleys, steep ravines, and impressive red-green slates.
