A49-Dafni Kostopoulou's Exhibition: From Form to Material
Spread the word

The exhibition presents Daphne Kostopoulou's artistic journey through 25 works, covering all phases of her creation: from early visual experiments to mature compositions with “poor materials” such as paper, coffee, sand, gauze and wood.
Through thematic sections that follow chronologically and conceptually the stations of her path, the exhibition highlights the transition from the certainty of form to the expressive autonomy of matter. The research documentation was based on primary sources from the daily and periodical press, illuminating the critical reception and dialogue surrounding her work.
Daphne Kostopoulou was one of the most active figures of post-war art in Greece, with a steady presence in the international arena and a constant search for new ways of expression through the power of matter, memory and myth.
The Ioannis F. Kostopoulou Foundation supports the exhibition by providing works from its collection.
