"Only two reasons" from the Kalamata Municipal Theatre
Spread the word
The Central Stage of the Municipal Theatre of Kalamata presents the performance, "Only Two Reasons": The Funeral of Iakovos Kambanellis and The Crimson Sky by Loula Anagnostaki.
Two heroes tell their personal story with undercut humor and sensitivity, on the one hand a writer, returning from the funeral of a distinguished colleague and anxious for his own recognition even after death, calls his friend and colleague trying to convince him to write each other's funeral and on the other hand the Sofia Apostolou “former teacher, dismissed due to alcoholism” and “mother of a prisoner”. The monologues written in the 90s by Iakovos Kambanellis, “The Funeral”, and Loula Anagnostaki's, "The Crimson Sky”, come to life on the stage of the Municipal Regional Theatre of Kalamata with performers Eleni Gerasimidou and Filippos Sofianos, directed by Manos Karatzogiannis.
In the monologue “The Funeral” (1992) and the one-person play “The Crimson Sky” (1998), Iakovos Kambanellis and Loula Anagnostaki, respectively, reaffirm the timelessness of their suggestive writing.
