The Creative Documentary Centre of Kalamata welcomes the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and presents the film “SHE WHO HOPES”
The Creative Documentary Centre of Kalamata is pleased to announce the commencement of its summer program, featuring a special collaboration and the screening of an exciting film.
For the second time, the Centre collaborates with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in the context of the DESTINATION JOURNEY action. This initiative showcases selected films from the 27th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (March 6th-16th, 2025) in regional cities, promoting cultural decentralisation and providing the Kalamata audience with the opportunity to watch important Greek documentaries.
The official start of the June screenings will take place on Monday, June 2nd, with the film “SHE WHO HOPES” (68’) by Stratis Hadjielenoudas.
A few words about the film “SHE WHO HOPES”:
In a dystopian future, where Earth is on the verge of destruction, an explorer from another galaxy arrives on our planet with a mission: to discover the last people who know the language of birds and transfer this knowledge to her own world. Guided by artificial intelligence, the explorer will face absolute silence, yet also discover that the need for communication and hope remains alive, even in the most adverse conditions—a documentary that raises questions about the future of communication and humanity.
The screening will take place on the pedestrian street of Koutsomitopoulou, at Doc Cafe, at sunset, creating a magical atmosphere under the stars.
We invite you to attend the opening of our summer program and enjoy this unique cinematic experience!
