European Romanticism travels to Greece
Spread the word
On Friday, September 1st, at 20:30, the friends of the T. Katsoulidis Museum and the Italian Consulate of South Peloponnese invite you to a melodic musical journey with the Italian Lyric Ensemble at the Amphitheatre of the Municipal Philharmonic of Kalamata.
You will enjoy an exciting programme based on familiar classical romantic school music themes this time.
Romantic music belongs to the broader intellectual movement that prevailed in Europe from the end of the 18th to the first decades of the 19th century.
This period is characterised by intense references to freedom, education, and the relationship with nature.
The Italian Lyric Ensemble will perform arias from operas, characteristic works and musical compositions by Puccini, Verdi, Brahms, Schumann, Donizetti, Chopin, Bellini, and Rossini. At the same time, the "5 pieces" of Dmitri Shostakovich will be heard in the second part.
The Italian Lyric Ensemble consists of:
Patricia Fodor – soprano
Carlotta Malquori – violin
Sofia Casci – clarinet
and Andrea d'Amato – piano
Coordination and Art Direction: Enzo Bonnano
Art Direction: Serena Marotti
The concert is part of the Greek tour of 4 cities that takes place within the framework of the Greek-Italian Cultural Cooperation Network.
