The Municipality of Kalamata and the Messenian Health Runners Association, in collaboration with the city's sports and cultural clubs, are organising the 7th Kalamata Half Marathon on Sunday, December 7th, 2025. The race is under the auspices of EOSLMAY and will take place on a certified route.
It has also been enriched with a 5 km race for everyone.

Under the auspices of EOSLMAY.
ROUTE: Certified by A.I.M.S., fast, next to the beach; asphalt, flat, with no elevation changes, and starting at the waterfront of the Central Port of Kalamata. The runners will initially move east along Navarinou coastal road towards the “Elite” hotel, where they will make a U-turn. Returning from Navarinou Street, the entrance to the Panhellenic (Akritas and Navarinou), they will pass through the starting area, then through the port-Port Authority, and continue through the marina towards Kordias and the West Beach. They will pass by the Air Force facilities and will make a U-turn. Then, returning along the same route, after the marina, at the kilometre mark (lighthouse), they will return to the starting point. The relay athletes will be transported by bus to the transition zone immediately after the race starts.
KILOMETRE INDICATIONS: There will be kilometre indications every one (1) kilometre, along the entire length of the route
SUPPORT STATIONS: Along the 21km route, there will be six support stations with water and isotonic drinks.
RIGHT TO REGISTRATION & PARTICIPATION: In the half-marathon, those who have reached the age of 17 and were born in 2007 or earlier (≥18 years old) have the right to participate. For the 5km, a parental declaration is required for those under 18 years old (pickup from the Secretariat).

COLLECTION: The Secretariat, for the collection of entries (electronic timing chip of the race and the technical t-shirt), will operate on Saturday, December 6th, from 17:00 to 20:00 at the race site (Kalamata waterfront) or at another location to be determined on the day of the race, Sunday, from 08:00 to 10:00 at the race site. There will be limited registrations at the Secretariat.
AWARDS – PRIZES – BENEFITS: The top 6 men and top 6 women in the overall standings of the 21 km race, the top 3 relay teams and the top 3 men and top 3 women in the 5 km race will be awarded.
There will be results by category. All participants in the race will receive a commemorative medal.
AWARDS: The awards will be given: For the winners of the 5 km at 13:00, for the winners of the Relay at 13:10, and for the winners of the 21.1 km at 13:20
Live RESULTS AND CELEBRITY DIPLOMA: The results will be broadcast Live from https://ftt.gr, where finishers with the timing chip will have the opportunity to see their performance immediately. The issuance of a commemorative diploma will also be immediate, since participants will have the chance to "download" it to their mobile phone immediately after finishing, upload it to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and share the joy of finishing with friends and relatives.
ELECTRONIC TIMING & RESULTS: All participating runners must wear the timing chip that identifies the athlete in the electronic system and receive it, together with their participation number, from the race secretariat.
There will be electronic control and timing zones for recording intermediate times at the turnaround points.
Only athletes who: a) participate in the race validly, b) show a time indication at the electronic control zones, c) finish within the race completion time limit and (d) comply with the regulations will be included in the final results, where their final performance and intermediate times are announced.
Upon entering the finish area, athletes follow the course indicated by the organising committee and volunteers. Runners without a race number are not allowed to participate, and they will be blocked from entering the finish line.
At the finish, the unofficial results of the races will be announced immediately. In contrast, the official results will be published the next day after the race technical committee has completed its review of any objections.
TIME LIMIT – SAFETY OF COMPETITORS: From 10:30 to 13:30, and for safety reasons, traffic will be stopped where necessary upon the indication of the Traffic Police.
To cover the route, a time limit of 3 hours for the half-marathon and 45 minutes for the 5km road race is set. After this time limit, runners who continue their effort will be required to comply with the traffic code. During the race, cars, motorbikes or other vehicles are not allowed to follow the runners.
For the safe conduct of the race, the Police Directorate, the Messinia Traffic Police, the Port Authority, and volunteers will ensure that it is conducted safely.
REGULATIONS: In addition, mutual understanding and assistance among runners are required before, during, and after the race, in line with sportsmanship and the values of fair play. Individual runners and groups of runners must respect their fellow athletes, not hinder each other in their efforts, and not prevent the smooth conduct of the race. In case of non-compliance with the rules, the Organising Committee officials may disqualify athletes and delete them from the scoreboard after the race, after evaluating objections and electronic and visual material.
MEDICAL COVERAGE: The organisers are not responsible for any issues related to HEALTH arising from a lack of preventive medical check-ups. They also bear no responsibility for any accident that may occur during the competition. The Organising Committee is responsible for the health of the competition.
The organisers will not require medical certificates for any athlete, since all participants compete under their own exclusive responsibility and minors under their parents' responsibility, and are required to undergo regular preventive medical check-ups to monitor their health. The organisers will have taken all possible medical measures to ensure the athletes' safety. For this reason, there will be a Red Cross Department, Volunteer Nurses of the Hellenic Red Cross, Rescuers, volunteers, EKAB, Doctors, as well as ambulances, throughout the race route, as well as at the start-finish, providing first aid and communicating with those responsible for the health coverage of the competitions.
CLOTHING
1. Those who wish can place their personal belongings and clothing in a special area that will be indicated to you.
2. Stick the sticker with your number on the bag, which must be tightly closed and not contain valuables. The organisation bears no responsibility for any loss.
3. After finishing, you will receive your clothing by showing your participation number.

VOLUNTEERING: For the smooth and smooth conduct of the races, the voluntary participation of people who love sports is essential. All volunteers will be given a T-shirt during the Technical Briefing on Wednesday, December 3rd (17:00-20:00) at the club's offices (East Centre, building 31).
