Terms and conditions of participation in the competition
"The city blooms when our balconies bloom!"

The competition is being held by the Directorate of Geotechnical Services of the Municipality of Kalamata in collaboration with the City's Climate Contract Mission team and the Deputy Mayor's Office for Strategic Planning and Climate Neutrality of the Municipality of Kalamata.
All adult residents of the Municipality of Kalamata who have a balcony or terrace and want to showcase the flowers and greenery they contain are eligible to participate. Yards and gardens are not eligible to participate in the competition.

To participate in the competition, interested parties must visit the specific website, fill out the form with their details: Surname, Name, Age, Address (balcony or terrace), Contact telephone number, as well as upload (upload) in the special box of the form two (2) clear color digital photographs with which the participant will take part in the competition.
The photographs must accurately depict the balcony and only it, so that its size as well as the creations with flowers and greenery are visible.
It is not permitted, under penalty of exclusion, to capture in the photograph neighbouring spaces or balconies of neighbouring residences, persons, especially children, and, in general, any capture of subjects other than the space of the balcony with which the participant takes part in the competition. In any other case, the participant will be automatically excluded from the competition.
The duration of the competition is set from May 26, 2025, to June 20, 2025.

A five-member Committee of the Municipality of Kalamata, consisting of an agronomist, an outdoor decorator and executives of the Directorate of Geotechnical Services and the Mission team of the Municipality of Kalamata, will select the ten (10) best entries and the winners and will confirm, through on-site inspection, the accuracy and authenticity of the photographs.
The first winner wins a tablet, courtesy of the company STOUPAS INFO-STARTPC.

The second winner wins a set of tools and plant care accessories, courtesy of the company KLIMIS-ALKESTOPOIIA-PIRINOKARVOUNO.
The third winner wins two (2) books on floriculture and gardening, courtesy of the bookstore BIBLIOPOLIS-DIMITRA DIMOPOULOU.
Winners from the 4th to the 10th will receive one (1) pot with seasonal plants.

The winners will receive their prizes at an event to be announced by the Municipality of Kalamata.

By sending their photos and participating in the competition, participants acknowledge that the pictures they submit do not violate any laws and do not infringe upon the rights of third parties. By participating in the competition, participants acknowledge that the organiser reserves the right to print, exhibit, reproduce, post on a website, and publish the photos in printed and/or electronic media. Participants have the right to withdraw their consent and/or participation in the competition at any time by sending an email to the following email address: [email protected].
Each participant is entitled to participate in the competition only once.

During the competition, it is strictly prohibited, under penalty of exclusion, to publish photos of participating competitors on their social media.
By participating in the competition, participants fully and unconditionally accept all the terms of the competition, including the collection, processing, and storage of their data for the sole purpose of the competition. Failure to comply with any of the above terms will result in exclusion from the competition.
