Children design our city-Participatory planning action by the Municipality of Kalamata

The Municipality of Kalamata is supporting the European Program YEP! (Citizens and EU Values-2024-CHILD-Project Number: 101190098). Implemented by the Inter Alia organisation in collaboration with partners from Italy, Spain, Romania, Greece, and Hungary, the programme invites children and adolescents aged 12 to 18 to participate in a unique participatory planning action!

Together, we will think and design how we want our neighbourhoods, streets, parks, and spaces to be where we live, play, and move. Children's ideas and suggestions will contribute to the design of a friendlier, safer and more sustainable city for all.

Specifically, participating children will have the opportunity to take part in:

- 5 Participatory Design Workshops in Kalamata (Cycle I: June - July 2025, Cycle II: November 2025 - February 2026)

- Information campaigns on children's right to the city

- Meetings of children with relevant bodies, representatives of the Municipality of Kalamata and professionals working in urban planning sectors to present their ideas and proposals for better cities

- Planning and implementation of a children's and youth festival (April - July 2026)

Who can participate: Children and adolescents 12-18 years old

For minors to participate in the programme, written consent from a parent or guardian is required through a responsible declaration.
