Events for the 84th anniversary of the Battle of Kalamata

A ceremony will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Kalamata, which took place on April 28th, 1941.
The 84th anniversary ceremony is jointly organised by the Municipality of Kalamata and the Brotherhood of Veterans of the Greek Campaign 1940-1941 and will take place at the Monument to the Fallen Allies during the Battle of Kalamata at the city's Municipal Railway Park (Crete and Psaros).
Savvas Chionidis, the Secretary General of Local Government of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will represent the Government. In contrast, Periklis Mantas, the Member of Parliament for Messenia, will represent the Greek Parliament.
It is noted that on the evening of the same day, at 8:30 p.m., a documentary screening entitled "Anzac, The Greek Chapter" has been scheduled at the Th. Aggelopoulos amphitheatre at the Kalamata Labour Centre.
