Kalamata Mountaineering Association-River Crossing in the Piniakos Ladonas Gorge

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Kalamata Mountaineering Association is organising for the first time a river crossing in the impressive gorge of the Piniakos Ladon River, known in antiquity as the Sellientas or Laganeikos River, one of the most important tributaries of the Pinios River in Ilia.
This is a route that few know about, and even fewer have the opportunity to explore. A lush and cool gorge, full of natural beauty, running waters, rich vegetation and unique landscapes, ideal for the summer season.
The course will take place in the riverbed and on the banks of the river, offering a unique experience of contact with nature and discovery of an unknown corner of the Peloponnese.
An excursion different from the usual ones, combining hiking, river, coolness and exploration in one of the most hidden natural landscapes of the Western Peloponnese.
Difficulty level: 1+
Course hours: approximately 4-5 hours.
