Companions IN NATURE-Tsakonian Trails/Eloni Monastery

On Sunday, November 30th, the group of Companions in Nature will walk along the Tsakonian paths heading towards Eloni Monastery.
Approximately halfway along the route from Leonidio to Kosmas, the Monastery of Eloni, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, dominates. It is built on the steep reddish rock of Mount Parnon and is one of the most impressive and imposing monuments of Arcadia. Its name is associated with the tradition that residents of the Laconian Elos took refuge here, bringing with them the miraculous icon of Hodegetria, considered the work of the Evangelist Luke.
