Summer tour

The "phenomenon" performance of the last theatrical seasons, which is being performed for the 3rd year in Athens and has been attended by over 100,000 spectators, is preparing to travel to important theatres and stages throughout Greece this summer. The performance TEBA LAND has been consistently sold out and extended over the last 3 seasons, while in the summer of 2024, it travelled to over 20 theatres on a sold-out tour throughout Greece. This year, it continues to thrill audiences for the third year at the Knossos Theatre in Kypseli. This significant 560-seat stage has been suffocatingly full since the beginning of the theatre season.

THE PERFORMANCE

A writer meets a twenty-year-old patricide, Martin, who is in prison for several months. His goal is to write a play based on the story of the young prisoner, to whom he suggests that he interpret himself on the theatre stage. When the competent ministry finally prohibits this, Federico, a young actor with whom the writer now works simultaneously, takes on the role. The French-Uruguayan Sergio Blanco, one of the strongest contemporary voices of Spanish-speaking theatre, delivers a modern study of male identity, oppression, violence, crime, punishment and discrimination, but also the creative processes of the art of theatre itself, with references to the myth of Oedipus and Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment.

Distinguished director Vangelis Theodoropoulos highlighted the Author's multi-layered work with a direction that critics particularly praised, and it captivates the audience thanks to its exceptional rhythm and evocative atmosphere. The performance has been established as a major theatrical event mainly due to the outstanding performances of the actors, Thanos Lekkas in the role of the Author and talented popular actor Dimitris Kapouranis, who won the Dimitris Horn Award 2022-2023, for his performance in the dual role of Martin/Federico.
