Christoforos Zaralikos and Pitsirikos, following popular demand, have written the festive and patriotic performance titled “200+4 Years on Loan, 1821–2025.”
The show is a sequel to their previous celebratory and patriotic performance, “1821–2021, 200 Years on Loan,” which was a box-office hit, received widespread acclaim, and even managed to bring “tough guys” into the theatre — in fact, right up onto the stage. After all, the timeless and singular mission of Christoforos Zaralikos is to bring everyone into the theatre, to “civilise” them and broaden their horizons, so they can discover the artist hidden deep inside them.
The performance “200+4 Years on Loan, 1821–2025” highlights and humorously sheds light on the history of the Greek state — portrayed as an endless celebration filled with countless loans, sweet bankruptcies, and heroic betrayals.
