Spread the word
With a screening program that crosses continents and touches on some of the most pressing issues of our time, the Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre welcomes March. With key themes including International Women’s Day, environmental protection, the impact of war, and the digital age, the Doc Café once again becomes an open window to the world.
A highlight of the month is the major two-day tribute to the acclaimed director Kleoni Flessa (“Women Pioneers in the Light”), which will take place at the Philharmonic Amphitheatre on Saturday, March 7th, honoring the “unseen” women of Greek history.
At the same time, on March 20th, the Centre joins the international solidarity movement of UNIMA, presenting films about Palestinian puppeteer Mahdi Karira from Gaza.
Friday, March 27th | Ghamar Taj (71’):
A powerful portrait of a woman from the matriarchal nomadic Iranian Qashqai tribe.
