In this lecture, Sylvios Syros will explain, in musical and aesthetic terms, the rhythmic and melodic-harmonic factors that have determined changes in jazz trends.
The lecture is addressed to musicians and listeners who want to delve into the specific characteristics of each trend in this music, which developed rapidly in the 20th century.
Simultaneously with the theoretical approach, a piece from each period will be performed by a quintet comprising graduate students and professors from the Jazzart school.
