The "Agios Dimitrios" Polylofos Educational Association was founded in 1980 with its original seat in Athens. In 2002, an amendment to the statute moved its seat to Messenia. In the summer of the same year, the Association held the "Fig Festival" for the first time, which developed into a truly successful institution aiming to highlight local cultivation and tradition.
At the same time, the Association organises other cultural events and activities every year, such as musical evenings, book presentations, educational excursions, etc.
