Leoni" (or Stella's) Well
This public well existed during the Late Ottoman domination and was named after the Consul of France in Navarino (Pylos today). Ange Leoni was born in Santa Reparata, Corsica, and died in Navarino in 1821 during its siege by the Greeks. In 1803 he married Areti Pavlopoulou in Methoni and had seven children, only one of whom remained in Methoni.
The well was destroyed by the community of Methoni and today there is only one cement outline in the small square that has been formed.
