Municipality of Oichalia
The Municipality of Oichalia was established in 2010 with the "Kallicratis" Programme from the amalgamation of the pre-existing municipalities of Meligalas, Andania, Dorio, Oichalia and Eira. The area of the new Municipality is 411.4 sq. km, and its population is estimated at approximately 11,750 inhabitants. The seat of the Municipality is Meligalas.
The Municipality of Oichalia stands out for its unique natural beauties, its historical and newer monuments, notable religious destinations, as well as the multitude of cultural events, such as the "Dipla Festival " in Oichalia, the "Lalaggida Festival" in Meligalas and the "Chestnut Festival" in the mountain village of Ambeliona.
