From July 9^th until August 4^th, the Greek Language and Culture Summer School for young expatriates (18-24 years old) will take place in Kalamata. The programme’s implementation is a collaboration between the Philology Department of the University of Peloponnese and the “USA and Canada Panmessenian Federation”.

The following courses will be taught: Greek Language, Greek Literature, Greek History and Greek Civilization. The Summer School programme includes excursions to areas of great cultural history in the Peloponnese (Mani, Taygetos, Koroni, Methoni, Pylos, Epidaurus), archaeological sites (Nestor’s Palace, Ancient Messina) museums (“Archaeological” and “Military Kalamata Museum”, « Kalamata Karelias Museum of Greek Costumes”, “the Acropolis Museum”) spiritual centres (“Maniatakeion Foundation”, “Costa Navarino”) and sights (Kalamata buildings, old town, the Castle, Ypapanti Church, etc.). In addition, seminars on Ancient Greek Philosophy, Athenian Democracy and Ancient Greek Drama are offered.
