Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata-February is full of melodies
Spread the word
After the entirely successful actions-events of January, the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata is preparing for the February ones!
On Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at 20:00, in the Concert Hall of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata, there will be a Chamber Music concert, which simultaneously constitutes the graduation exams of the talented student Zois Katsapara. Zoe will present a programme of chamber music works for violin, recorder and piano by G.Ph. Telemann and sonatas for violin and piano by W.A. Mozart and L.v. Beethoven as part of her graduation exams from Professor Loukas Georgas' Chamber Music class.
Working with her are Katerina Chrysanthakopoulou (recorder), Dimitris Adamopoulos (piano) and her teacher, Loukas Georgas (piano).
On the weekend of February 10th & 11th, 2024, a two-day seminar will occur with conductor and harpsichordist Marcellos Chrysikopoulos. Permanent guest of the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, Markellos Chrysikopoulos, will teach the monody students of the Kalamata Municipal Conservatory the secrets of Baroque and Classical vocal music.
On Sunday, February 11th, 2024, at noon, the Sunday Fairy Tales with Christina Dimizas and Lilly Triantaris return to the Municipal Conservatory—fairy tales for children from 5 to 95 years old.
Then, on Monday, February 19th, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., "Sofia's Fairy Tales" will be on for adult audiences again with Lilly Triantaris and Christina Dimizas!
On Saturday, February 24th, the concert hall of the Conservatory turns into an artistic cafe, with an evening dedicated to jazz music! The quintet of jazz singer Sofia Brailas will transport us to other times with well-known jazz standards!
Finally, as this year is a leap year, the Conservatory could not be left "unoccupied" on February 29th!
The expert in early music, i.e. Renaissance and Baroque music, Dimitris Kountouras, will impart to flute and recorder students the... secrets of G.Ph. Telemann's music.
Admission to all activities will be free.
