The 13th Kalamata Guitar Festival, which has three parts, will conclude with a closing ceremony at 8:30 PM on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at the Municipal Philharmonic Amphitheatre.
“Guitar Recital” Campbell Diamond
We will have the pleasure of listening to Campbell Diamond, who is considered one of the most outstanding guitar soloists of his generation worldwide. The multi-award-winning guitarist from Australia has given recitals in most European countries, in Asia and South and Central America, presenting solo and chamber music works. His resume includes over thirty awards in international competitions, fourteen of which are firsts! Campbell Diamond teaches at the Anton Bruckner University of Music in Linz, Austria. He will present works by: P. Bellinati, E. Nazareth, H. W. Henze, F. Tarrega, S.L. Weiss, M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, J. Rodrigo, R. Sainz de la Maza.
«Opening Act» Jason Georgiopoulos
On the same evening, the Festival, which contributes to the emergence of new artists, hosts Jason Georgiopoulos, who won the 1st Prize in the major category of the 12th Kalamata Guitar Competition. He will present works by M. Llobet and J. Rodrigo.
"Awards for Children and Teenagers"
We will applaud the young, talented musicians who participated in the children's and teenagers' categories of the 13th Kalamata Guitar Competition in an award ceremony for prizes, commendations and commemorative diplomas.
