The “Friends of Music of Kalamata” Association presents the Alekos Vretos Quartet in a concert titled “Mediterranean Echoes” on Monday, March 16th, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the Municipal Cultural Centre of Kalamata.

This concert marks the ensemble’s first live appearance following the recent release of Alekos Vretos’s new single, which previews his upcoming album expected to be released in spring 2026.

The quartet moves within the field of contemporary Mediterranean jazz, blending improvisation with elements from the musical traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean. The group’s sound develops through the dialogue between oud, piano, clarinet and double bass, creating a modern sonic landscape where lyricism coexists with rhythmic intensity.

The programme includes original compositions by Alekos Vretos, as well as works that highlight the ensemble’s Mediterranean character.
